The story of a photographer

I would like to start by saying thank you to a few people. Not to sound like a pro sports player, but first and foremost, God! For all He has given me. I really shouldn't be here today. As a recovering Alcoholic and Drug Addict, I am extremely grateful for the journey He has provided me over the past 15 years and walking side by side with me every step of the way. Second, my beautiful wife Kelly. Without her, I truly wouldn't be the man I am today. Life hasn't been easy, but she's stuck by me through thick and thin. We have six kids between the two of us and six grand babies. Most of my practice has come at their expense. Countless snaps, always having a camera in their face, turn left, look here, sit here, endless park visits to shoot outside, you get the point. And I wouldn't be complete with out the encouragement and knowledge of a few people. Geoff "Scooter" Wood | Instagram @williamgeoffrey (he took the photo below) has pushed me and taught me so much. Endless hours of me asking him questions and him always answering. Brad Coleman | Instagram @bradccolemam for pushing me creatively, spiritually, and to be a better human being. I am a better person by knowing you. Thank you for your constant encouraging messages, being there for my family and being a true friend. Cant wait to see you become a father and all that God has in store for your life. Charlie Giesler | Instagram @charlie_giesler, thank you for your technical expertise. Your knowledge is vast and willingness to teach others your gifts and talents is contagious.

Now for the "About" section, I am a creative, a Graphic Designer by day, husband, father, grandfather, pet lover (we have tooooo many) and for some reason, kids love me. Most of them anyways. It might be because I tease them constantly and drive them crazy. As I stated above, I am a Drug Addict and Alcoholic, been sober 15+ years. I work for a local church in Houston and grateful for the opportunity to not only be creative, but use my life experiences to benefit others. After taking photos for many years (on Auto mode) and not taking the time to learn the basics, we were planning on taking a trip of the lifetime to Alaska and knew we probably couldn't afford to go back, we purchased a camera. I knew if I forced myself to purchase it, I would have to learn how to use it. And I did. Im still learning every day, and constantly tweaking and trying to better my skills.

And I love capturing moments!
